Renée Stout: utilizes imagery from African traditions, popular culture, and personal politics to create images and objects in a variety of media.  Stout received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1980 from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA. She was one of six finalists for the seventh annual Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize (2012) and a recipient of the David C. Driskell Prize (2010).  

Her work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington DC, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington DC, the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC, the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA, and The San Francisco Museum of Fine Art, CA, among others.  Learn more about Renée Stout at www.reneestout.com.
