Black Art In America Announces Satellite Exhibition “Divergent: The BAIA Difference” at the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum and Conference Center

Black Art in America (BAIA) Gallery is excited to announce a satellite exhibition titled, Divergent: The BAIA Difference at the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum and Conference Center. This special exhibition that features works representing Black Art In America’s founding and mission, is scheduled to open Friday, May 3, 2024. The show will feature 30 works from notable artists in BAIA’s private collection, gallery holdings, the James Taylor Estate and the BAIA Foundation (501c3) catalog.

Founded in 2010, BAIA is a multifaceted arts company based in East Point, GA—which aims to document, preserve and promote the contributions of the African American arts community. As an exhibition, Divergent will highlight BAIA’s many-sided approach to its proclaimed mission.

Curated by Faron Manuel, Curator and Foundation Director at Black Art In America Gallery, the exhibit will also feature a number of public programs and talks related to BAIA’s founding, mission and featured artist. This satellite exhibition is free and open to the public with an opening reception scheduled for Friday, May 3rd at 7pm EST. The opening reception and exhibition will be held at the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum and Conference Center at 3900 Aviation Circle, NW, Atlanta, GA 30336.
